Youth Group Summer Fun

Our Young people enjoyed a day at camp recently. They roasted hot dogs and s'mores, ate a lot of yummy snacks, kayaked around the lake, swam, and canoed.

VBS 2013

Our annual VBS is in full swing. We are enjoying a large group of kids this year. Once again they love the parachute games. They are also enjoying the puppet, the stories, Bible memory, songs, and the prizes. Our ladies are keeping them happy with yummy snacks, too. Our young people are once again a huge help!

Our young people got together and worked hard on the scenery. They did such a great job!

VBS 2012, The Treasure Mine

Our old parachute is still alive and well, and a huge favorite with the kids. They ask for it at every event we have for them. I think it's older than me. :)
The stage was decorated with old west things and an old mine.
This game was an interesting spin on an old favorite...Tag.
 Well, howdy there, Cowboy.
Miner Mike helped us find a nugget from scripture every night.
It rained candy every time the penny offering went over a set amount.
This game was called Balloon Ring Toss.
The storytellers had the kids come up and help by acting out the stories.
We had lots of fun games.
Mrs. C. told an exciting, continuing story every night.
The week of VBS was tiring, but well worth the hard work as we were able to lead three children to Christ. That's why we do what we do. We are praying that we will have opportunities to reach the families of these kids, as well.

Growing Gospel Club

Our Gospel Club, which meets every Monday at 3PM, is growing to epic proportions. We can't remember when we have had such interest in a weekly Bible club. Our church ladies take turns making snacks for the kids. One week, we said, "Make sure there is enough for about 17." The next week we said, "Better make that 20". The next week it was 25, and now, after having 27 with 3 regular attendees missing, we have had to say, "make enough for at least 30, and don't forget that the teens who help with our Gospel Club need to be fed as well." WOW! How exciting!
If you are a member and have thought about helping someday, now would be a great time to put thoughts into action. :) This is especially helpful during craft time, when little ones may need help cutting or gluing. Also, just another adult nearby during story time is very helpful.

Praise the Lord for these children and this opportunity to reach out into our community and share Christ!
